In a
typical real estate transaction there’s a seller
and a buyer, and a real estate agent represents
each. The seller (say that’s you) has a Listing
Broker who lists the property with MLS (Multiple
Listing Service). The buyer also has an agent.
Both agents receive a commission on the sale of
the home.
The Listing Broker (who works for you) is paid a
commission (by you). That commission is
negotiable, but may be around 5%-6% of the
selling price of your home. Upon completion of
the sale, the Listing Broker gives usually half
to the selling agent. That’s a substantial
amount of money – your money!
If you sell your home for say $200,000,
5% is $10,000. That’s how much gets subtracted
from what you receive from the sale. So what
should you do?
Our company, mlsAssist, lets you cut out
the Listing Broker’s fees. You pay only for your
flat fee MLS listing, a listing that looks the
same, and works the same because it is the same
as the one your agent would have provided.
You get the benefits and exposure of your MLS
listing and World Wide Web, and SAVE THOUSANDS
when you sell your home.

A
local licensed Realtor, mlsAssist, will place
your home in the MLS with up to
eight photos for six months for a low flat fee. You stay in complete control! You make all the
decisions about when your house is
available to be shown, open houses, about the
correct price for the house, negotiations, and
about the escrow company you use. All
the advertising decisions - where and when your
ads will run, what aspects of your home to
emphasize - will also be yours
By default, the mlsAssist phone number as the
broker placing the listing will be included as
well as your phone number on the MLS and any
real estate websites such as Realtor.com, but we do not collect a commission.
The calls go directly to you, and if you sell
your home to a buyer who is not represented by a
broker, you will pay absolutely no commission at
closing. If a broker brings you an acceptable
offer, you will pay a pre-determined negotiable
commission (usually around 2%-2.5% of the sales
price) to that broker, just as you would in any
For Sale By Owner transaction. In either
situation, mlsAssist never collects a
commission.
